What is the http-mime type?

   A media type (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions or MIME type) is a standard used to represent the nature and format of a document, file, or byte stream. Browsers often use the MIME type (rather than the file extension) to determine how to handle URLs, so it is important for the Web server to add the correct MIME type to the response header. If the configuration is not correct, the browser may misinterpret the content of the file, the website will not work properly, and downloaded files will be handled incorrectly.

2. format

   type/subtype consists of two strings of type and subtype separated by '/'. Spaces are not allowed. type represents an independent category that can be divided into multiple subclasses. Subtype represents each type after subdivision. The MIME type is not case sensitive, but traditionally written in lower case.
